Even if Cambodia has one of the youngest populations in Southeast Asia and around 70% of the demography of the country is 35 years old and below, only a total of 94,500 students study ICT across Cambodia. However, the country is starting to recognize the importance of digital learning, internet technology and web-based learning.

There are efforts intended to improve the digital learning to students but many people still have little or no access to digital learning. These are brought about by factors on financial incapacity, lack of infrastructure, lack of awareness and other possible reasons especially for young people. Because of this, they do not get the benefits of being digitally literate that could have helped them in learning, getting employed or even run their own business.

This prevents them from being empowered in achieving more and exploring their potential and contributing to Cambodia as a whole. 36% people in the rural area’s age is from 0-14 years old, while 35% of them are 15-34 yrs old. 25% of people in the urban area are ages 0-14 years old while, 50% of them are aged 15-34

AIESEC aims to create and deliver a community development project addressing the gaps in digital literacy among young students in Cambodia—to make more equipped for the future. The project will consist of training workshop organize and basic English class in chosen communities. Through this project, young Cambodians will be allowed to be at par in terms of computer based literacy with the young people in more developed countries.

The project will happen in nine different communities in Kandal, Koh Dach, Steung Meanchey, Nek Leung, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Kampong Loung, Takmao and Takeo.
